QuickBooks training & support

HawkSoft’s goal in providing QuickBooks training and support is to equip customers with the basic knowledge and skills they need to confidently use QuickBooks with HawkSoft for their trust accounting needs. Below is a list of the key areas HawkSoft teaches regarding QuickBooks. Our goal is to ensure customers have the confidence and ability to manage QuickBooks on their own.

1. QuickBooks Setup

  • Creating both bank and reporting accounts in HawkSoft, thus helping to establish a Chart of Accounts for trust accounting

 

2. QuickBooks/HawkSoft Integration

  • How to transfer transactions from HawkSoft to QuickBooks
  • How transactions in HawkSoft appear in QuickBooks after they’ve been transferred
  • Determining if a transaction has been sent from HawkSoft
  • Troubleshooting data transfer issues

 

3. Transaction Management

  • Connecting payments to invoices
  • Managing deposits, including:
    • Making a deposit
    • Locating a deposit
    • Correcting inaccurate deposits
  • Writing and printing checks in QuickBooks
  • Handling inaccurate trust accounting transactions from HawkSoft

HawkSoft support exceptions for QuickBooks / accounting

HawkSoft feels it is most beneficial for the agency to maintain control over their own books. Subsequently, the following workflows will not be taught by HawkSoft employees.

  • Workflows or transactions unrelated to trust accounting
  • Workflows in an operating account other than close of month workflows related to trust accounting
  • Transactions in closed books or books under audit
    • Once books have been submitted for taxes, we will no longer assist with modifying transactions from the previous year

 

 

 

 

Additional QuickBooks training/services 

HawkSoft’s Product Support team serves as a resource for quick questions and educational guidance. While they can provide resources for the following workflows, agencies seeking more in-depth training or hands-on assistance on these topics can work with our Client Services team for additional consulting.


Client Services also offers a complimentary 1-hour QuickBooks Core Fundamentals training for new agencies. This training can be redeemed within the first year of purchasing QuickBooks Online through HawkSoft.

Agency CPA/Accountant
Best resource for: Recording operating accounting in QuickBooks

Your agency’s CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or accountant is the most familiar with your financial records and is best positioned to provide guidance on handling transactions specific to your agency. Accountants are also qualified to perform forensic accounting and make any necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy in your agency’s books.

 

HawkSoft Managed Accounting

Best resource for: Paid services for offloading trust accounting, operating accounting, and/or commissions tasks on an ongoing basis

Intuit Support

Best resource for: Technical issues with QuickBooks, items outside HawkSoft support

For questions outside HawkSoft’s scope of support, such as technical issues with QuickBooks, agencies have access to support through Intuit. You can reach them through their support line at 1-800-446-8848 or through their QuickBooks Online account by logging in and clicking the question mark in the top right-hand corner. This will open the help menu with training guides, community posts and an option to call or request a call from a support representative.
