What's changed in HawkSoft 6?

  1. Reimagined: simplified carrier profiles
  2. Enhanced: carrier list
  3. Enhanced: profile creation options

1. Reimagined: simplified carrier profiles (one profile for all LOBs and states)

The most significant change in HawkSoft 6 is that carrier profile setup has been vastly simplified. Previously, agencies created multiple carrier profiles for each LOB and state. In HawkSoft 6, because there are no longer base policy types, a single carrier profile can be created and customized with all LOBs, coverages, limits, and deductibles for all states the agency writes in.

The Prospect carrier profile serves as a template for all new carriers created, where all possible LOBs can be added for each state and coverages, deductibles, and limits can be edited per state. This template can then be cloned as a starting point for each new carrier, reducing the setup for each new carrier.

2. Enhanced: carrier list

The carrier list has an updated display and is now searchable and can be filtered by state. It now shows carrier states, status, and whether the carrier is certified for downloads with HawkSoft.

3. Enhanced: profile creation options

  • Updated carrier profile view
The updated Carrier Profile display has tabs for Carrier Info, Contact Info, Policy Info, Website, and Lines of Business.

  • Auto-populated carriers
Names for HawkSoft Download Certified Carriers, their Writing Carriers, and NAIC Codes now auto-populate when creating a carrier profile, rather than needing to be manually entered.

  • Agent codes
Users can now add a description to Agent codes and assign codes to multiple offices.

  • Updated LOB options
Policy Forms, Policy Snapshot, and Policy Title have been moved to the LOB tab. LOBs are grouped by application type, but because there are no base policy types in HawkSoft 6, any LOB can be added to any group as desired. Type-along search is now available when adding LOBs and coverages.

  • Multiple addresses
Multiple addresses can now be added to a carrier profile.
  • New Customer Website field
Customer Website can now be saved to a carrier in addition to Carrier Website.

What capabilities are no longer available in HawkSoft 6?

  • Company integration
Company integration is not available in HawkSoft 6, as most of the previously used integrations are no longer relevant. Integration for NY ID cards will be available by Phase 2 of release (when available to existing customers).

  • Login credentials for carrier websites
This feature was removed due to agency feedback, but may be added in future.

How should agencies prepare for this update?

What items will be migrated to HawkSoft 6 automatically (no action needed from agency)?

All carriers and their settings will be migrated to HawkSoft 6. Prior to migration, we recommend that agencies review their carrier list and remove any old/invalid carriers (run Search and Replace) to simplify the configuration process in HawkSoft 6.

What items will need to be reviewed or reconfigured by the agency after the migration to HawkSoft 6?

Because multiple carrier profiles were needed previously for multiple LOBs or states, there may be duplicate carrier profiles after migration to HawkSoft 6. The HawkSoft migration team will work with agencies to help them merge and/or delete duplicate carrier profiles as needed. The migration team will also assist in associating all policies to the correct updated carriers.
