What's changed in HawkSoft 6?
- Updated Agency & Offices settings
- Updated Users & Permissions management
- Reimagined Carrier Setup
- Other settings moved to Agency Setup
1. Updated Agency & Offices settings
Agencies can use single-office mode or enable multi-office mode to configure multiple offices.
- The offices list is now searchable.
- Each office now has its own license number.
- Agency States is a new field that will be utilized by the updated Carrier Setup.
2. Updated Users & Permissions management
-
Searchable user list
The user list can now be searched by user initials, user name, or office. -
Easier list management
Larger user lists load faster, and there are now built-in filters for user status. -
New My Account screen
The user profile has been moved to a new My Account screen, accessible by clicking your user name in the menu bar. Users can change their office for the day in this area, rather than being a Roaming User.
-
New Admin user type
There is now a new Admin user type that ensures all permissions stay accessible to that user. Admin users are set by HawkSoft Product Support and are the only users who can:-
Download agency data exports
-
Make updates to the agency’s seats
-
Access the HawkSoft Marketplace (integrations)
-
-
User permissions by office
-
Users will automatically have their permissions applied to all offices the user is assigned to. Agencies can ask Product Support to enable user permissions by offices if needed, which will allow users to have different permissions in each office.
-
The User Permissions list now displays columns for permissions in each office (for agencies that enable permissions by office). Specific offices can be filtered and selected.
-
3. Reimagined Carrier Setup
Carrier profiles no longer need to be duplicated for each state or LOB. All LOBs, coverages, and limits/deductibles can be configured under a single carrier profile and configured for each relevant state. Please see our Carrier Setup resource page for more information about the reimagined Carrier Setup.
4. Other settings moved to Agency Setup

-

What capabilities are no longer available in HawkSoft 6?
-
Some settings in the previous Multi-Office options in Setup > Agency Information > Multi Office Settings have been removed, due to usage being extremely low.
-
User permissions by office are now enabled with the assistance of the HawkSoft Support team, and can then be configured by the agency in HawkSoft.
-
Some settings in the previous General Configuration > General Settings have not yet been moved over to Agency Setup, but remain available in the previous location. These items may be added to Agency Setup at a later point, depending on user feedback.
-
File groupings to allow correspondence templates and other settings to be specific per-office are not currently available, but will be added later.
-
The Subscription option has been removed from the Setup menu because updating date codes is no longer necessary for subscription management in HawkSoft 6.
-
The Direct Company Integration option has been removed from the setup menu as these integrations were seldom used. The integration for NY ID cards deprecated will be available by Phase 2 of the HawkSoft 6 release.
How should agencies prepare for this update?
What items will be migrated to HawkSoft 6 automatically (no action needed from agency)?
All the agency's existing settings (including seats, permissions, users, carriers, etc) will be migrated to HawkSoft 6. Settings that are new in HawkSoft 6 will need to be configured upon migration to HawkSoft 6, and some existing settings may need to be reviewed or reconfigured.
What items will need to be reviewed or reconfigured by the agency after the migration to HawkSoft 6?
- Agencies will need to update and remove duplicate carriers, as previously multiple carriers were created by state, etc (see Carrier Setup resource page for more details). The migration team will assist agencies in merging carriers and removing duplicates as needed.
- Agencies will need to set up the items from their previous Communications/Tfile customized lists as Activity Tags (see Log Notes & Activity Tags resource page for more details.
- Agencies will need to configure their rater bridge settings and computer-specific settings again if they are installing HawkSoft 6 on a new computer (including workstations that previously used HawkSoft Online).
